VEICHI Solar Drive Keypad Functions and Display Indicators Guide
VEICHI Solar Drive Keypad Functions and Display Indicators
Correct operation of a solar drive depends not only on proper parameter configuration but also on understanding the keypad functions and display indicators.
In this episode of the System Solar Power Energy Systems technical content series, we provide a detailed overview of the keypad structure, display indicators, and operating functions of VEICHI SI23 and SI21 solar drives.
⸻
Display Indicators
The VEICHI solar drive display provides real-time monitoring of essential operating parameters, including:
* Current (A)
* Voltage (V)
* Percentage (%)
* Frequency (Hz)
* Motor speed (RPM)
* Operating status (RUN)
These indicators enable users to monitor system performance and quickly evaluate operating conditions.
⸻
PRG Key
The PRG key is the main key used to enter and exit the parameter menu.
It allows users to:
* Access parameter menus.
* Navigate between parameter groups.
* Return to the main display.
Holding the PRG key also provides access to the C-monitoring parameters for system status analysis.
⸻
SET Key
The SET key is used to confirm, save, and navigate parameter settings.
It allows users to:
* Confirm parameter changes.
* Save configuration values.
* Switch between LED display pages.
* Cycle through frequency, current, and voltage values on the main screen.
⸻
Up and Down Keys
The Up and Down keys are used to navigate between parameter groups and adjust parameter values.
While the drive is in standby mode, these keys can also be used to modify the operating frequency.
⸻
RUN Key
The RUN key starts the drive in the forward direction.
When activated:
* The motor starts operating.
* The RUN indicator remains illuminated.
* Operating frequency can be monitored on the display.
⸻
STOP / RESET Key
The STOP / RESET key performs two functions.
During normal operation, it safely stops the motor.
In fault conditions, holding the key resets the fault after the cause has been identified and corrected.
⸻
Dual Display Keypad on 45 kW and Larger Models
VEICHI solar drives rated 45 kW and above are equipped with a dual-display keypad.
In these models:
* Key functions remain unchanged.
* The upper display shows operating frequency.
* The lower display provides current and voltage information.
A rotary encoder is also included, enabling faster parameter adjustment, navigation, value editing, and confirmation.
⸻
SI21 Series and Mini Models
The primary difference between the SI21 and SI23 series is the integrated potentiometer available on SI21 models.
The potentiometer is disabled by default and can be activated through the corresponding parameter.
Mini models include dedicated LED indicators for:
* Power status,
* Operating status,
* Start, Stop, and Reset functions.
⸻
DIP Switch Settings
All VEICHI solar drives include two DIP switches located on the bottom of the unit.
One switch is used to enable the remote communication module.
The second switch is configured according to the motor voltage.
Correct configuration is especially important for 3×220 V and 3×110 V pump applications.
⸻
Conclusion
The keypad design of VEICHI solar drives provides both ease of operation and advanced system control.
Proper use of the PRG, SET, RUN, and STOP/RESET keys, together with correct interpretation of the display indicators and accurate DIP switch configuration, ensures safe, efficient, and reliable operation.
