Digital Input Settings and Parameter Configuration in VEICHI Solar Drives

In this episode of the System Solar Power Energy Systems technical content series, our Assistant General Manager Gizem Özkorkmaz explains the digital input settings used in VEICHI solar drives.

The X1, X2, X3, and X4 digital inputs available on VEICHI solar drives are the primary control points that determine how the system operates. On the drive display, these inputs are indicated as:

* X1 – LED 0

* X2 – LED 1

* X3 – LED 2

* X4 – LED 3

These digital inputs can be used to control start-stop functions, forward-reverse operation, emergency stop commands, level switches, and various external control devices.

The basic principle is to connect push buttons, dry contacts, or sensors to the digital input terminals and assign specific functions to each input through parameter settings.

Digital Input Parameters in SI23 and SI21 Models

The functions of digital inputs are defined through dedicated parameter groups.

* In SI23 solar drives, digital input settings are configured through the F02 parameter group.

* In SI21 solar drives, digital input settings are configured through the F05 parameter group.

In the SI23 series, F02 is the primary parameter group used for configuring X1, X2, X3, and X4 inputs.

For example:

* F02.00 represents the X1 input.

* F02.01 represents the X2 input.

* F02.02 represents the X3 input.

* F02.03 represents the X4 input.

This structure allows each digital input to be assigned a different function, providing maximum flexibility for application-specific requirements.

Why Are Digital Inputs Important?

Digital inputs are far more than simple ON/OFF control signals. When configured correctly, they enable advanced control scenarios and significantly enhance system functionality.

For example, polarity or direction reversal functions can be configured through parameters. In the SI23 series, this feature can be assigned using parameter F02.10.

In field applications where control panels have complex wiring structures or where physical terminal modifications are difficult, changing the operating direction through parameter settings provides a fast, practical, and reliable solution.

Conclusion

Digital inputs are among the most important communication points between VEICHI solar drives and external control equipment. Properly configured digital input parameters improve operational safety, increase flexibility, and optimize overall system performance.
